NEW HAVEN ANNOUNCES ALTERNATIVES FOR RESIDENTS DURING PARKING BAN
(12/19/2008) NEW HAVEN- In light of New Haven’s snow-related parking ban beginning at noon today, the City has released alternative parking options for residents. The following off street parking is available during the overnight hours while a parking ban is in effect. Cars may be parked in these locations no earlier than 5:00 P.M. and must be removed no later than 6:00 AM. Parking charges for these locations are indicated below.
1. Surface lot at Chapel and Franklin Streets (no charge)
2. Surface lot at Chestnut Street (no charge)
3. Surface lot at State and Pulaski Streets (no charge)
4. Surface lot at Grand Avenue and East Pearl Street (no charge)
5. Crown Street Garage ($3.00 from 5:00 PM until 6:00 AM)
6. Granite Square Garage (no charge from 5:00 PM unt9il 6:00 AM)
7. Temple Street Garage ($3.00 from 5:00 PM until 6:00 AM)
If cars are left in the garage during the day the normal hourly fees will apply.
Off street parking is also available at the following Parks Department lots while a parking ban is in effect:
1. East Shore Park by Salperto Rink (Woodward Avenue)
2. Bowen Field (Crescent Street)
3. Edgewood Park (Whalley Avenue)
4. Blake Rink (State Street)
Overnight parking from 5:00 PM until 6:00 AM is available at the following Board of Education lots. Cars must be removed if school is in session during the day to allow for teacher parking.
1. Conte School (off chapel Street near Chestnut)
2. Betsy Ross Arts Magnet School (Kimberly Avenue)
3. Hill Regional Career School (Legion Avenue)
4. Clinton Avenue School (Clinton Avenue)
5. High School in the Community (Water Street)
6. Wexler/Grant School (Foote Street)
7. Katherine Brennan School (Wilmot Road)
